The board is a grid of five-letter words, and every word starts misspelled. Pair each word with a neighbor and trade one letter between them so both become real words.

1. Pick two neighbors. Tap a word, then a word directly above, below, left or right of it. Diagonals don't count.
2. Trade one letter. Choose one letter from each word. They swap places, and you see both new spellings.
3. Join them. If both words are valid, join the pair. The two words lock together and can't trade with anyone else.
4. Pair the whole board. Every word needs a partner. A word whose neighbors are all taken is stranded, so plan your pairs.
5. Find the way in. One corner word can pair with only one of its neighbors. That pair is certain, so start there and work across the board.
6. Watch for decoys. The other three corners, and some words in the middle, have a decoy: a neighbor that trades into real words but isn't the partner. Every board has exactly one way to pair every word, so a pair that leaves another word stranded is a decoy.

What counts. Words must be in the game's dictionary. Proper names, abbreviations, and words with hyphens or apostrophes don't count.

Difficulty. Easy is 12 words (4 rows of 3) with only the corner decoys. Medium is 20 words (5 rows of 4) with more decoys. Hard is 24 words (6 rows of 4) with the most decoys and a longer chain of deductions from the way in.

Preview and undo. Previews are free. Undo breaks the last pair and restores both words. There's no time limit.
