How to read the map

  1. Fill every hex with an elevation from 1 to 7
  2. Neighbors can differ by at most 1. Every hex has up to six neighbors. A jump of 2 or more is a cliff, drawn in red on the shared edge.
  3. Every row and every column has exactly one summit: its highest value appears in only one hex. Rows run left to right; columns run straight down and to the right. The arrow at the end of a row or column turns green when its summit is unique and red when it isn’t. Tap a hex to redline its row and column.
  4. Hexes marked with a + are surveyed spot elevations and can’t be changed. Each map has one solution.

Your result

There’s no score: a finished map records your time and your number of moves. Placing, erasing, changing and undoing each count as a move, so the fewest possible is one move per empty hex.

Three maps a day: 64, 81 and 100 hexes. Each daily map can be played once. New maps arrive at midnight US Eastern time.

Keyboard

Number keys place an elevation, Backspace erases, arrow keys move between hexes, and Z undoes.

Sharing

Share turns your finished map into a hex-shaped grid that shows how you got there without giving away any elevations.
